Inquiries to the Law Office

All inquiries made to the law office are handled in a confidential manner and will not be divulged to any outside third party.

All inquiries to the law office should be made by calling the law office at (704) 333-1428 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All calls will result in an information-gathering interview. A comprehensive review by Ms. Fosbinder of that information, as well as current caseload, appointment schedule, and court calendar will determine if a Consultation appointment is set.

If a Consultation Appointment cannot be made we can provide a list of attorney names and telephone numbers for referral.

About our Staff

Julie H. Fosbinder is the sole practitioner of the Law Office of Julie H. Fosbinder. Her areas of practice include labor and employment law, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, long-term disability denials, and wrongful termination. Ms. Fosbinder received her B.A. degree from Lawrence University and her J.D. degree from New York Law School. Prior to opening her own firm she was a senior trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has written and lectured on labor and employment issues, including trial tactics, sexual harassment and EEOC procedures. Ms. Fosbinder is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar Association (member, Labor and Employment Law Section), The National Employment Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Joy H. Chappell joined the Fosbinder Law Office in October 2010 as a staff attorney. Ms. Chappell has over thirteen years of legal experience having worked with such firms as Hendrick, Gardner, Kincheloe & Garofalo and serving as a law clerk/intern for former United States Magistrate Carl Horn of the United States District Court, Western District of North Carolina. Ms. Chappell received her B.S. from Gardner-Webb University and her J.D. degree from the Charlotte School of Law. Ms. Chappell is a member of the State Bar. of North Carolina, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Gaston County Bar, the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys.

While attending Charlotte School of Law, Ms. Chappell served as treasurer of the American Constitution Society, worked on the Innocence Project and was a member of the Charlotte Law Cares Organization, a philanthropic student organization which aspires to improve the community they live in by volunteering to aid those in need. Ms. Chappell is currently serving as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Paralegal Program at Gaston College.

Jonathan K. Hennika joined the firm as a paralegal in 2002. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Paralegal Studies in 1999 from the Academy of Court Reporting in Southfield, Michigan. Jonathan is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and North Carolina Notary Public. While working full time at the firm, Jonathan also attended Queens University of Charlotte, Hayworth College, where he graduated in May 2010 magna cum laude. His major was in American Studies with a minor in Psychology. Additionally, Jonathan is a member of the PsyChi National Honor Society.
